Tradition modernly implemented
RC “Allemania von 1866” is one of the four traditional rowing clubs in Hamburg. In this project, a state-of-the-art member application was developed for the rowing club, honoring its over 150-year tradition while setting future-oriented digital standards. The design and color scheme were carefully adapted to the historical heritage of the club and interpreted modernly for the digital world to be equally appealing and functional on smartphones and the web.
As part of a planned digitization of the club's processes, a comprehensive booking system was developed. This enables real-time booking of rowing boats and training equipment and ensures efficient resource management. In addition, the system provides comprehensive information on ranking positions, current weather conditions, and includes training management for coaches and trainees. As a multiplatform solution, the system is seamlessly available on the web as well as on iOS and Android devices, ensuring a consistently good user experience.
Particularly Modern
A central feature of the technical implementation is the use of a unified codebase for all platforms. This enabled the efficient development and deployment of the application for both mobile devices (iOS and Android) and as a web version, ensuring a consistent user experience across all devices.
For data management, a real-time database with Firebase was implemented. This ensures that all information, from member data to current bookings or training plans, is always up-to-date and reflects immediate updates throughout the application. The exceptional cost efficiency of the solution, amounting to less than 2 euros per month, is noteworthy, enabling sustainable and economical operation.
Furthermore, the application seamlessly integrates news and announcements from the internal member system, significantly simplifying communication within the club and keeping all members constantly informed about relevant events and information. This project demonstrates how tradition and innovation can be successfully combined to create a powerful and user-friendly digital solution that enriches the daily lives of club members.
